ERP is deploying a project team for the Fort Buchanan installation-level microgrid in Puerto Rico. The work includes diesel generation, medium-voltage distribution, microgrid controls, protective relaying, fuel infrastructure, fiber communications, optional BESS, integration of existing renewable generation, and full system commissioning.

Position Summary

Assure that all project design documents, calculations, shop drawings, delegated designs, field changes, and as-built information are coordinated and meet professional architectural and engineering quality standards. The DQCM provides independent design-quality governance within the CQC organization.

What You Will Do

  • Establish and execute the design quality-control plan, interdisciplinary review matrix, comment-resolution process, and release gates.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, controls, telecom, cybersecurity, fuel, and commissioning design interfaces.
  • Verify constructability, code/specification compliance, design criteria, calculations, drawing consistency, equipment clearances, and field conditions.
  • Control design comments, RFIs, substitutions, delegated design, value engineering, design changes, record drawings, and EOR approvals.
  • Confirm that submittals and commissioning design reviews reflect the coordinated contract requirements and approved configuration.
  • Travel to Puerto Rico for field verification and resolution of critical interdisciplinary issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • At least 10 years of multidisciplinary design or design-quality experience on federal, utility, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
  • Demonstrated management of formal interdisciplinary reviews, comment closure, delegated design, and field/design change control.
  • Ability to travel to Puerto Rico for critical reviews and field verification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active PE or RA license and ability to obtain Puerto Rico registration if required.
  • USACE, UFC/UFGS, medium-voltage, microgrid, generator, BESS, controls, fire protection, and commissioning experience.
  • Bluebeam Studio, BIM coordination, and CUI-aware design-collaboration experience.

Field, Travel and Employment Conditions

  • This is a contingent opportunity dependent on contract award/NTP, project funding, final staffing authorization, Government acceptance when required, and successful installation-access processing.
  • When on site, work may involve tropical heat and humidity, rain, uneven terrain, stairs/ladders, construction noise, required PPE, and extended, weekend, outage, emergency, or alternate-shift hours.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, follow drug-free workplace and conduct requirements, and protect FCI/CUI using only authorized systems and procedures.
  • ERP encourages applications from qualified Native American, Puerto Rican, veteran, military-spouse, disabled, and local candidates. ERP provides equal employment opportunity consistent with applicable law.

Application Materials

  • Resume showing month/year dates, employer, role, project scope/value, client, and personal responsibilities.
  • Copies of required current licenses/certifications with expiration dates.
  • Comparable-project list and references where requested, Puerto Rico availability, earliest mobilization date, and requested employment/consulting arrangement.
