About ERP and the Project
Energy Resilience Partners, LLC (ERP) is a tribally led SBA 8(a) federal contractor advancing energy resilience and mission assurance. ERP is deploying a project team for the Fort Buchanan installation-level microgrid in Puerto Rico. The work includes diesel generation, medium-voltage distribution, microgrid controls, protective relaying, fuel infrastructure, fiber communications, optional BESS, integration of existing renewable generation, and full system commissioning.
Position Summary
Lead installation, startup, and turnover of continuous-duty diesel generators and their mechanical auxiliaries, cooling, exhaust, ventilation, fuel/DEF day systems, fire/life-safety interfaces, and vendor field services. This role represents generator and mechanical installation teams in commissioning.
What You Will Do
- Plan and supervise generator receipt, preservation, setting, alignment, anchorage, auxiliaries, piping, ventilation, exhaust, and equipment interfaces.
- Coordinate OEM services, startup prerequisites, lubrication/cooling/fuel readiness, inspections, pre-functional checks, and load testing.
- Integrate mechanical work with electrical terminations, controls, fuel supply, structures, fire protection, and sound/vibration requirements.
- Maintain equipment records, torque/alignment reports, startup documentation, redlines, punch lists, warranties, spares, and O&M inputs.
- Support functional and integrated microgrid performance testing and correct deficiencies rapidly.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 10 years of industrial mechanical or power-generation construction with 5 years supervising generator or rotating-equipment installation.
- Experience with diesel generator auxiliaries, fuel/DEF systems, exhaust, ventilation, startup, and load testing.
- Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, OEM manuals, test procedures, and quality records.
- Ability to work full-time in Puerto Rico and obtain installation access.
Preferred Qualifications
- OEM field-service, commissioning, vibration/alignment, NFPA 37/30, USACE CQM, or OSHA 30 experience.
- Spanish proficiency.
Field, Travel and Employment Conditions
- This is a contingent opportunity dependent on contract award/NTP, project funding, final staffing authorization, Government acceptance when required, and successful installation-access processing.
- When on site, work may involve tropical heat and humidity, rain, uneven terrain, stairs/ladders, construction noise, required PPE, and extended, weekend, outage, emergency, or alternate-shift hours.
