About ERP and the Project
Energy Resilience Partners, LLC (ERP) is a tribally led SBA 8(a) federal contractor advancing energy resilience and mission assurance. ERP is developing a contingent project team for the Fort Buchanan installation-level microgrid in Puerto Rico. The work includes diesel generation, medium-voltage distribution, microgrid controls, protective relaying, fuel infrastructure, fiber communications, optional BESS, integration of existing renewable generation, and full system commissioning.
Position Summary
Provide discipline-specific construction quality control for civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, structural, environmental, concrete/pavements/soils, or IT/communications work. Specialists are responsible to the CQC System Manager, must be physically present during work in their assigned area, and perform no duty other than quality control while carrying out the CQC function.
What You Will Do
- Participate in preparatory, initial, follow-up, testing, inspection, and commissioning control activities for the assigned discipline.
- Verify approved documents, materials, installation, workmanship, testing, and corrective action against contract requirements.
- Document observations, results, deficiencies, photographs, test evidence, and daily report inputs.
- Coordinate laboratories, special inspectors, EOR/OEM representatives, subcontractors, and Government witnesses through the CQC Manager.
- Maintain independent QC judgment and exercise delegated stop-work authority for noncompliant work.
Minimum Qualifications
- Civil: four-year civil engineering degree plus 2 years related experience.
- Geotechnical: civil engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering plus 3 years relevant experience.
- Mechanical: mechanical engineer plus 5 years related experience.
- Electrical: electrical engineer plus 5 years related experience.
- Structural: structural engineer plus 5 years related experience.
- Environmental: environmental engineer plus 3 years related experience.
- Concrete/pavements/soils: qualified civil/geotechnical engineer supported by a Corps-validated QC testing laboratory.
- IT/communications: current RCDD plus 2 years related experience.
- Ability to be physically present in Puerto Rico during assigned work and obtain Government acceptance/access.
Preferred Qualifications
- PE/EIT, USACE CQM, ACI, ICC, NICET, NETA, RCDD, AWS, or discipline-specific inspection credentials.
- USACE/RMS, power generation, medium-voltage, BESS, fuel-system, or microgrid experience.
Field, Travel and Employment Conditions
- This is a contingent opportunity dependent on contract award/NTP, project funding, final staffing authorization, Government acceptance when required, and successful installation-access processing.
- When on site, work may involve tropical heat and humidity, rain, uneven terrain, stairs/ladders, construction noise, required PPE, and extended, weekend, outage, emergency, or alternate-shift hours.
