About ERP and the Project
Energy Resilience Partners, LLC (ERP) is a tribally led federal energy-resilience contractor building the contingent team for the USAG Ansbach - Storck Barracks Smart Microgrid in Bavaria, Germany. The 730-day project integrates two 1 MW diesel generators, 2 MW / 4 MWh battery energy storage, photovoltaic generation, 20 kV medium-voltage distribution, fuel systems, protection, SCADA/microgrid controls, fiber communications, an underground interconnection corridor and full testing, training and commissioning.
Position Summary
Provide the Government-submitted QFPE function for fire-alarm and related life-safety work and verify compliance with the contract, Host Nation requirements and approved design.
What You Will Do
- Review and certify fire-protection design, calculations, equipment, sequences and submittals within the QFPE scope.
- Coordinate DIN 14675, VDE 0833, AHJ, USACE and installation life-safety requirements.
- Attend required inspections and acceptance testing; document deficiencies and verify correction.
- Support Government approval, commissioning, training, O&M and closeout records.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed/registered professional engineer with demonstrable fire-protection engineering competence acceptable under the contract and Government/AHJ review.
- Experience with addressable fire alarm systems, power/controls facilities and German fire-alarm codes and approval practices.
- Ability to provide signed/sealed or otherwise formally certified deliverables where required.
- German-language capability and Germany-local credential/practice knowledge appropriate to the duties; English required for Government-facing functions.
Preferred Qualifications
NCEES Fire Protection Engineering examination; DIN 14675/VDE 0833 experience; federal/USACE work.
Germany Work Authorization, Location and Access
- German-language, local credential, local-practice or continuous-presence needs control selection.
- Lawful Germany work authorization/status and installation access are required before in-country duties.
- May be engaged through an approved qualified first-tier firm; independence and professional-responsibility limits must be preserved.
- No field work may begin until required Government personnel approval, installation access/badging, safety orientation, role designation/appointment, system/data permissions and work-front release are complete.
Field, Travel and Employment Conditions
- Work arrangement: REMOTE/HYBRID - Germany attendance is mandatory at defined milestones; minimum presence: Remote submittal/design review; Germany attendance for critical inspections, testing and Government acceptance.
- Project-based and contingent upon award/NTP, funding, final staffing authorization, qualification verification, Government approval where applicable, employer-of-record completion and installation access.
- Must support approved work hours, outages, testing windows, alternate shifts, weekends or German holidays when the schedule and lawful working-time controls require.
- Must comply with ERP/prime direction, EM 385-1-1, German safety and labor requirements, quality controls, CUI/FCI and photography/device restrictions, accurate timekeeping and project conduct rules.
